 MissionCreate and transmit knowledge concerning the Spanish language, literatures and cultures in a climate that promotes ease of communication and mutual understanding. Recognize Spanish as a historical language of the United States and provide students with the opportunity to build upon their existing linguistic and cultural knowledge. Create connections with local Spanish-speaking communities and organizations. Learning Outcomes
	Speak, aurally comprehend, write and read Spanish at a level suitable for graduate education or careers in business, government, social services or tourism.Explain and apply Hispanic cultural and historical perspectives to events and ideas in a globalized society.Analyze and critique original texts and cultural artifacts from U.S. Latino, Latin American, and Spanish sources.Value and develop Spanish language proficiency for students who grew up in a Spanish-speaking community. |
