Mission
Prepare students for careers in biology and science education and admission to graduate and professional schools in the life and health sciences. We also promote the understanding of biology as an essential part of a liberal arts education and of global citizenship.
Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate mastery of key concepts from the many disciplines within the biological sciences.
- Demonstrate critical thinking through laboratory experimentation, field research, data analysis and interpretation.
- Apply concepts and skills from multiple courses to engage in advanced studies and research.

Note:
All students pursing this degree must complete PH 201 , PH 202 , PH 203 (general physics) or PH 211 , PH 212 , PH 213 (General physics with calculus) as part of the LACC laboratory science requirement and MTH 112 must be completed as the additional degree requirement in mathematics. Furthermore, this program does not lead to a biology degree but may lead to an education degree following the completion of the professional education core in the College of Education. Requirements for admission into education programs can be obtained from the College of Education.
