FR 101 First Year French I  First term of introductory French. Students learn to converse at a basic level, with pronunciation that would be understood by a sympathetic native speaker. Reading diverse examples of French provides models for writing. Contexts include people inside and outside the classroom; family life at home, in town and in the country; and people’s daily activities.
