CJ 220 Introduction to Homeland Security In this course, students will be introduced to the strategies and skills necessary to help U.S. local governments and their communities become more effective in creating vigilant, prepared and resilient communities for homeland security. This course introduces students to the central elements of terrorism, the all hazards approach, community policing and homeland security. Students will learn the differences between national security and homeland security, federal jurisdictions and state and local jurisdictions. During this course, students will have the opportunity to learn, demonstrate, and use these strategies and skills through a blended, adult-learning approach that includes classroom discussion, problem-based learning (PBL), hands on activities, and practical demonstrations.
