PSY 446 Psychology of Leadership Introduction to leadership, focusing on what it means to be a good leader. Emphasizes the practice of leadership. Examines topics such as: the nature of leadership, recognizing leadership traits, developing leadership skills, creating a vision, setting the tone, listening to out-group members, handling conflict, overcoming obstacles and addressing ethics in leadership. Helps students understand and improve their own leadership performance. Activities may include a service-learning component with a community organization, analyzing case studies and developing individual leadership portfolios. Credits: 4 Prerequisite: PSY 201 and PSY 202 (or equivalent) or consent of instructor; PSY 334 recommended
