HST 588 Canada Since Confederation Examines the history of modern Canada from confederation (1867) through the present with attention to nationalist trends at the provincial and regional levels and federal efforts to secure a sense of Canadian nationalism, in the context of counter national movements and interpretive themes of particular relevance in the study of comparative North American cultures, including First Nations movement and immigration trends of the late 19th and 20th centuries.
