ED 519 Poverty, Young Children, and their Families This course explores students to the complex impact of poverty on schools, children, and their families. A poverty simulation will be conducted in class to understand the stressors and challenges facing families living in poverty. Strategies that teachers and schools can take to support children and families living in poverty will be discussed. Students will be required to complete additional assignments, readings, and take on leadership roles within the course. Credits: 3
