BI 221Z Principles of Biology: Cells Explores fundamental biological concepts and theories about the cellular and molecular basis of life including cell structure and function, metabolism, genetic basis of inheritance and how information flows from DNA to proteins, with a focus on the iterative process of science. Intended for science majors. Three hours of classroom meetings and three hours of laboratory per week. Credits: 5 Prerequisite: BI 102 or CH 112Z or MTH 095 or MTH 101 or STAT 243Z or placement into MTH 111Z or higher.
