MUS 414 Jazz Theory Introduction to the elements of jazz arranging and composition, emphasizing jazz theory, harmony, melodic fluency, form, instrumentation, voicing, nomenclature, rhythm, ear-training and the jazz style. Compositions and arrangements for jazz combos will be performed and critiqued when practical. Credits: 3 Prerequisite: MUS 313
